Are you interested in helping authors get the word out about their books?
I am. If I read a book I like or see a notice from an author I like about their new book I try to help.
I put the word out on the following social media sites.
- Smashwords
- Goodreads
Why do I do this? I love to read. I love to promote reading. And this is an easy way to encourage others to read and help an author at the same time.
Are there other ways you help promote authors?
Thanks for reading . . .
I like to support Pages Books in Calgary. Every time they recommend a book that I read and enjoy, Pages and the book get a mention on Facebook.

Garry, I’ve seen those posts and think it’s a great idea. I share them on my page for my Calgary friends to see to. I also like to read what you recommend so it helps me find new books.

This is exciting to see! I am a writer and I think this is awesome — outside of introducing works into my bookclub and having my network share them I push them the regular social outlets like FB, Twitter, my blog, etc!! Thank you for promoting and sharing!! I’ll be following! S.

Wanderluster, thank you for the follow. I hadn’t thought about bookclubs as a venue to get people to share, but it’s a great idea. Every little bit helps.

Yes it does! And it makes for great discussion — sometimes we even create alternate endings! Very fun!

Once in a great while, I like to list what I’m reading on my blog, and if I’ve got something particularly juicy on my Kindle I’ll post it on the sidebar. I should probably do that more often! I also put my favorites up at Critique Circle. Every little bit helps!

Posting on the blog is another great way to help a fellow author. Now the rest of us just have to share the news…
